Norton Little Learners Pre-school is based in the busy and vibrant Norton C of E Primary School. Our pre-school is accommodated within the school where children from 3 years until their entry to Reception are provided for. Parents can access our pre-school provision using the government funded childcare, sessions outside of this entitlement will be chargeable. Pre-school sessions run from Monday-Friday 8.45am-2.45pm, with the option to extend until 3.15pm (this will incur extra costs), we also offer morning 8.45-11.45am and afternoon 11.45pm-2.45pm sessions. In some instances, we do not facilitate children to do full day sessions immediately, especially the younger children if we feel that they may not cope with being at the pre-school all day. This is a decision made by the Pre-School Lead, and it will be decided by the individual child’s needs.
Prior to admission, the Pre-School Lead will meet parents and their child in school. The purpose of this visit is to discuss any issues relating to the child and family that staff will need to be aware of, e.g, likes/dislikes, any medical, social or nutritional need and any other considerations relevant to the child taking up a place in the pre-school. Children will generally be offered initial settling in sessions prior to them taking a space, this is done on an individual basis, depending on the child’s needs, we also take into consideration the impact of half terms on a child’s settling in process.
Our published admission number for Pre-School 2023-2024 is 16 children a day. When our pre-school is at capacity parents may place their child’s name on a waiting list and will be notified when a place becomes available. Spaces are offered on a first come, first served basis.
Parents are warmly invited to visit our pre-school for an initial look round and meeting with the staff in the Pre-School. Our sessions run Monday to Friday (term time only) between;
- 8.45am – 11.45 noon Monday to Friday
- 11.45 – 2.45 pm Monday to Friday
- Full day 8.45am – 2.45pm Monday to Friday (With the option to extend the day until 3.15pm for a small charge per child, per day).
If you require childcare between the hours of 8am until 5/5:30pm we offer the before and after school club to children attending Norton Little Learners.
